Established in the heart of the nation's capital in 1821, GW provides innovative programs in more than 200 fields of study, including graduate certificate, master's, and doctoral programs. Located just steps from some of the most influential U.S., international, and nongovernmental organizations in the world, GW?s Elliott School of International Affairs is consistently ranked among the top international affairs graduate programs. In addition to teaching a vast array of courses, its more than 150 full-time faculty members produce innovative scholarly research and policy analysis and regularly engage with the U.S. and international policy communities. Classroom experience is complemented by a robust events program that brings leading scholars, policymakers, business leaders, members of the media, and other speakers to campus to discuss and debate important international issues. Many students work or intern at nearby institutions, including the World Bank, U.S. State Department, and the White House.
