Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC) is an internationally recognized academic center with a three-part mission of research, teaching and patient care. Offering a long tradition of excellence, Georgetown's biomedical graduate programs provide an academically exciting and personally rewarding home for those wishing to do serious graduate work at the master's or doctoral levels.

Committed to fostering an intellectual environment conducive to the discovery and communication of knowledge and specifically of new research, GUMC's biomedical graduate programs offer a variety of outstanding educational and research training environments responsive to the needs and interests of a diverse population of students.

Georgetown's biomedical graduate programs cover a wide spectrum of fields ? from the basic and clinical sciences, to emerging infectious diseases, to science policy, to critical evaluation of complementary and alternative medicine. Offered are programs leading to degrees in Master's of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) along with dual degree programs, which allow students the opportunity to earn both an MD and a Master's in Biohazardous Threat Agents and Emerging Infectious Diseases (BHTA); Master's in Physiology and Biophysics (CAM); or doctorate degree. In addition, Georgetown University's biomedical doctoral programs participate in the National Institute of Health's Graduate Partnership Program. The University also offers four biomedical graduate-level certificate programs.
