Prospective graduate students can ask questions at school information sessions
| Thursday, November 10, 2011 |
Many individuals prefer to earn a bachelor's degree and then work for several years to gain professional experience. However, when these graduates decide to return to school to pursue a master's degree, they are sure to have a few admissions questions. Fortunately, many colleges and universities host helpful events such as graduate school fairs and information sessions.
On December 5, Wilkes University in Pennsylvania will host an information session for adult students who wish to earn a graduate degree, the school's Web site reported. At this event, which will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., faculty will be on hand to answer any questions prospective students may have about admissions and financial aid.
According to the Web site, faculty members will provide information about the university's many graduate options. Wilkes offers master's degree programs in subjects such as business administration, creative writing, education, mathematics and nursing. The school also offers doctoral programs in both nursing practice and education.
Professionals who have yet to earn an advanced degree may want to attend local graduate school information sessions. After all, those who hold a master's degree may make at least $200 more than bachelor's degree holders on a weekly basis, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
