Students can explore their options at graduate fairs
| Tuesday, July 19, 2011 |
While some may know that they want to continue their education beyond the undergraduate level, they may be unsure as to which college or university offers the best advanced degree to suit their needs. In these cases, attending a graduate fair may prove beneficial.
On September 7, the University of Central Florida's (UCF) College of Graduate Studies will host its annual Grad Fair, UCF Today reports. This event, which is open to all, will run from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the school's Pegasus Ballroom.
Nearly 200 of the university’s graduate degree and certificate programs will be represented at the free open-house style Grad Fair, states the news source. In addition, those in attendance will have the opportunity to speak with professors, receive financial aid advice and other useful information regarding graduate education at UCF.
According to the university's official Web site, last year's Grad Fair attracted more than 1,300 prospective students.
Those who are still unsure about pursuing an advanced degree may be interested to learn that individuals who hold a master's degree stand to make approximately $200 more per week than graduates of undergraduate programs, states the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
