 GRADUATE TEST TAKING

Test preparation courses can provide students with customized learning

Thursday, December 22, 2011
Individuals who are interested in continuing their education in graduate or business school are typically required to take either the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) or the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Thanks to technological advances, there are a number of convenient ways for prospective students to prepare for these assessments.

Snapwiz, a learning software provider, and Barron’s Educational Series, a publisher of test preparation books, recently announced that they have partnered to offer online courses on the GRE and GMAT.

The first course, Barron’s GRE, is already available at barronstestprep.com and the Apple iTunes store, with the GMAT course to follow in January. Prospective test takers can complete these classes whether they are on their home computer, using a tablet device or a smartphone. If individuals need to switch devices, the course will save their progress so they can begin where they left off at a later date.

In addition, the courses rely on adaptive learning technology, which provides users with a customized experience based on their strengths and weaknesses.

"These courses combine the best of both worlds: content from our bestselling manuals written by experts and the smart adaptive learning technology from Snapwiz," said Ellen Sibley, president and publisher of Barron’s Educational Series.
