Prepare for a career in academia, Jewish communal service, Jewish education, the rabbinate, or the cantorate at the premier institution of Jewish learning. A university of Judaic studies with a world-class faculty and diverse student body, The Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) grants graduate and professional degrees through four of its five schools: The Graduate School, William Davidson Graduate School of Jewish Education, The Rabbinical School, and H. The Library of The Jewish Theological Seminary houses the most complete collection of Judaica in the Western Hemisphere. With more than 400,000 volumes on open shelves, it is ideally suited for the research needs of students. JTS is located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, near the Hudson River and Riverside Park with its tree-lined jogging trails, tennis courts, and wooded enclaves. The neighborhood is filled with restaurants, coffee bars, bookstores, and boutiques. Financial aid, based on need and/or merit, is available to matriculated students in the form of grants, loans, and merit scholarships. Some graduate housing is available.
