Lasell College offers a Master of Science in Communication, Master of Science in Management and a Master of Science in Sport Management along with a number of graduate certificate programs. Lasell College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Graduate faculty are scholars and practitioners in their fields and provide a dynamic learning environment that emphasizes putting theory to practice through case studies, group projects, guest speakers, field studies, and a capstone research/internship project. Graduate faculty are a combination of full-time Lasell faculty and adjunct lecturers. Graduate classes are small, capped at 20 students.
Students applying to the Master of Science in Communication degree (MSC) may choose to concentrate in either Public Relations or Integrated Marketing Communication. Courses in the program include Intercultural Communication, Media Relations, Writing for PR, Integrated Marketing and the Internet, Crisis Communication and Communication Research, just to name a few. The MSC degree is 36 credits and can be completed in one year full-time or on a part-time basis. It is possible to waive or transfer 6 credits toward the degree.
The Master of Science in Management program (MSM) offers concentrations in Elder Care Administration, Elder Care Marketing, Fundraising Management, Human Resources Management, Marketing, Management, Non-Profit Management, and Project Management. The concentrations in Elder Care are distinguished by the Fuss Center for Research on Aging and Intergenerational Studies, and Lasell Village, a continuing care retirement community. These facilities serve as an unmatched opportunity for on-site gerontology research and experience. The MSM program requires 36 credits and can be completed in one year of full-time study or part-time at your own pace. Students with prior relevant coursework may qualify to waive or transfer 6 credits toward the degree.
Lasell?s most recent graduate program, the Master of Science in Sport Management degree offers concentrations in Sport Hospitality, Sport Leadership and Sport Non-profit Management. The program is delivered 100 percent online giving students access to sport management professionals across the country. The MSSM is designed according to COSMA guidelines and requires 36 credits that can be completed in one year of full-time study or part-time at your own pace. Students with prior relevant coursework may qualify to waive or transfer six credits toward the degree.
Graduate certificate programs are available in all the concentration areas of study. Extremely popular, the graduate certificate option is well-suited for working professionals looking to change careers or candidates who aren?t ready to commit to a degree program. Graduate certificates are composed of five courses (15 credits) and can be completed in as little time as six months. Students who earn a graduate certificate may choose to build upon the certificate to earn a master?s degree.
Recognizing that most of the Lasell's graduate students are balancing career and education at the same time, courses are taught in a hybrid format on campus in the evening and also 100 percent online. Online courses run in 6-week sessions and on-campus courses are offered at night in a hybrid format combining online and face-to-face meetings. Students may start the program in September, October, January, March, May or July. Services for graduate students include advising, orientation, IT and library support, and Career Services. Graduate students have access to a number of facilities including smart classrooms, where faculty and students benefit from the latest technology, the Brennan Library, Babcock Graduate Student Lounge, dining facilities and computer labs.
Lasell is conveniently located in Newton, Massachusetts, at the junction of the Mass Pike and Route 128. Just eight miles from the cultural, business and health care opportunities of Boston, Lasell?s campus is easily accessible by public transportation and offers ample parking near graduate classroom buildings.
