Monmouth University is a leading private institution that offers a comprehensive array of undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The University provides students with a highly personalized education that builds the knowledge and confidence of tomorrow?s leaders. It offers about 55 undergraduate and graduate degree programs of study within its eight schools: the Leon Hess Business School, the Wayne D. McMurray School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Marjorie K. Unterberg School of Nursing and Health Studies, the School of Education, the School of Science, the School of Social Work, the Honors School, and the Graduate School.
The Graduate School has a current enrollment of more than 1,800 students. Specially designated graduate faculty provide the core instruction to Monmouth?s graduate students. Recognized for their scholarly achievements by peers in their fields, Monmouth?s faculty members provide a distinctly challenging classroom environment, bringing research and professional experience to their teaching. They serve as advisors and mentors to their students, in many cases not only during the student?s course of study but also after graduation from the University. Small classes that allow for individual attention and student-faculty dialogue, together with careful academic advising and career counseling, are hallmarks of a Monmouth education.
Students are offered a variety of learning environments, ranging from lectures and seminars to independent studies, practicums, internships, and online and Web-enhanced course work. Many of the University?s graduate students work full time or are full-time interns and attend evening classes. Full consideration is given by the faculty to the practical obstacles confronting students in this situation.
Additionally, some courses of study offer hybrid classes that utilize a combination of traditional, face-to-face classroom time blended with online classes and assignments. These classes usually meet in-person on alternate evenings. The University also offers two accelerated programs (the accelerated MBA and the accelerated MAT) that allow students to complete their degree in 12 months.
Monmouth University?s 156-acre campus is located in a convenient, safe, suburban area one mile from the ocean. The campus is only an hour from both New York City and Philadelphia. Both can be easily accessed by train or commuter bus service. The University?s proximity to high-technology firms, financial institutions, and a thriving business-industrial sector provides Monmouth students and graduates with significant employment opportunities.
The Monmouth University Library is the informational center of the University and holds more than 333,000 volumes and nearly 43,000 journals (print and electronic). Interlibrary loan service is available allowing students access to the collections from thousands of libraries across the country. The library also maintains 159 online full-text research databases, which can be accessed by all of the University?s major computer resources.
Computer workstations that are specifically dedicated to student use are distributed among 47 instructional and open-use laboratories and include PC and Apple workstations. Laptop plug-in ports and wireless connectivity are available throughout the campus.
