Northeastern faculty conduct research that is interdisciplinary and translational in such diverse pursuits as drug discovery, high-rate nanoscale manufacturing, urban housing policy, transportation infrastructure imaging, information security, and explosives detection. There is a special emphasis and expertise in biotechnology, nanotechnology, microgravity materials processing, subsurface sensing and imaging, information assurance, and urban public policy focused on education, health, and housing.
