The Graduate Programs of Saint Michael?s College offer part-time and full-time master?s degrees in Clinical Psychology (MA), Education (MEd), and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MATESOL) as well as a Master?s International Program (MIP) in association with service in the Peace Corps, numerous Teacher Licensure and Endorsement Programs, and an advanced (post-master?s) certificate program in Education.

All programs are theory-based and practitioner-oriented. Courses are offered in the evening once or twice a week, on weekends, in shortened, more intensive time frames (especially during the summer), and some online or Web-based, to meet the needs of working professionals. Faculty and students bring a practical dynamic to the classroom that meets the demands within today?s offices and classrooms. Typical responses from students include:

?The course work is interconnected; everything I?ve learned I can apply to my work in my classroom. When I finish my MEd, I?ll keep coming back to Saint Michael?s for classes because I find my education here so interesting and valuable.? Melissa Richard, MEd.

?I chose Saint Michael's because I liked the program. The courses provide me with the theoretical and practical knowledge and are some of the best in the field of TESOL. I want to become a professor of English at one of the universities in Yemen.? Mutahar Al-Murtadha, Fulbright Scholar from Yemen, MATESOL.

?The Clinical Psychology master?s program classes are focused, in-depth and challenging, and the faculty are experienced professionals who have inspired me.? Stephen Cousino, MA in Clinical Psychology.

Saint Michael?s College, founded in 1904 by the Society of St. Edmund and headed by President John J. Neuhauser, is included in Princeton Review?s "The Best 366 Colleges: 2008 Edition." A liberal arts, residential, Catholic college located in the Burlington area of Vermont, Saint Michael?s is amongst the select group of 270 institutions nationwide allowed to sponsor a chapter of the academic honor society, Phi Beta Kappa, on campus. Saint Michael?s has 2,000 full-time undergraduate students, and some 500 graduate students and 200 international students. Saint Michael?s students and professors have received Rhodes, Woodrow Wilson, Guggenheim, Fulbright, National Science Foundation and other grants. And Saint Michael?s professors have been named Vermont Professor of the Year in four of the last seven years. The College was named by Newsweek magazine a ?Hidden Treasure,? one of 30 colleges recommended most frequently by guidance counselors for being ?schools that deserve more national recognition.? Saint Michael?s College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Saint Michael?s has been offering master?s level programs since 1926.

Applications for the Graduate Programs are reviewed on a rolling admissions basis. Applicants apply online at www.smcvt.edu/graduate/admission or contact Saint Michael?s 1-800-762-8000 for a graduate admission application.
