The School of Graduate Studies at Shippensburg University provides convenient, reputable graduate programs that fit the needs of the working professional. Graduate students appreciate the evening, online, and off-site course offerings that help them balance their educational needs with their careers, families, and personal lives. At Shippensburg, the quality of your education is a priority. The University takes care to offer you current programs in small classes with opportunities for internships and practicums. The average class size is 14, affording you the opportunity for greater class participation and a one-to-one relationship with faculty.

SHIPPENSBURG UNIVERSITY OVERVIEW
Shippensburg University is a public university offering bachelor?s and master?s degree programs in three colleges: Arts and Sciences, Business, and Education and Human Services. For more than 140 years, Shippensburg University has served the educational, social, and cultural needs of students in southcentral Pennsylvania and beyond. With ?Learn and Serve? as its guide, the university has provided graduate education for the Commonwealth since the 1950s. Today, 1,100 graduate students are enrolled in master?s degree, supervisory certification, and post-baccalaureate programs. Located on 200 acres in Cumberland County, Shippensburg University offers excellent, widely respected, and accredited undergraduate and graduate programs taught by faculty dedicated to student success. More than 8,300 students attend Shippensburg including those enrolled in professional, continuing, and distance education programs. GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIPS
Shippensburg University provides financial assistance to graduate students through graduate assistantships, graduate residence director appointments, student loans, and student payroll positions. Graduate assistant appointments can provide you with the opportunity to participate in professionally related activities with faculty and administrators. These assignments can extend your learning experience beyond the classroom and enhance your professional development. Graduate assistant appointments are awarded on a competitive basis without regard to financial need. They provide a tuition waiver as well as compensation for work performed.

GRADUATE STUDENT RESEARCH
Shippensburg?s Graduate Research Grant Program provides financial support to graduate students for research or scholarly activities related to their program of study. Research opportunities enable students to better understand the scientific process, experience discovery, develop their analytical and communication skills, and gain exposure to national ideas through the presentation of the results of their research at conferences. All students conducting research are invited to present their research at the University?s annual Celebration of Student Research Conference in April.
