On scenic Boston Harbor, conveniently close to downtown, UMass Boston presents a wide range of opportunities for graduate study and research in one of the nation?s richest cultural and scientific urban environments.

The University offers more than 80 graduate programs to a widely diverse student population through its Colleges of Education and Human Development, Liberal Arts, Management, Nursing and Health Sciences, Public and Community Service, and Science and Mathematics, as well as the McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies, and University College. These include BS-to-MS, EdS, MA, MFA, MS, MEd, MBA, PhD, DNP and EdD degree programs, as well as some 30 graduate certificate programs and Certificates of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) (see below).

The Healey library facility maintains a collection of more than 600,000 volumes; 25,000 electronic and print journals and newspapers; 30,000 electronic books; 85+ databases and over 2,500 videos, DVDs and films. Through its membership in the Boston Library Consortium, it affords students ready access to college and university libraries throughout the area, as well as the renowned Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute.

Adjacent to the campus are the Massachusetts State Archives and Commonwealth Museum, and the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, providing further study and research opportunities and other collaborative initiatives. The new Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate and an Integrated Science Center will soon add to the growing cluster of campus structures, further enhancing campus research and study options. A dazzling, state-of-the-art campus center houses student services, student dining, student clubs and organizations, and a range of versatile meeting spaces.

Students can easily find nearby rental properties and/or roommate living situations through the University?s free Housing Referral Service. The campus is readily accessible via Boston?s public transportation system, and has available on-site parking.
