Established in 1964, the University of Tennessee Space Institute (UTSI) is a premier graduate education and research institute that is world renowned for its excellent research faculty and facilities. The campus is a picturesque lakeside campus located on 365-acres donated by the U.S. Air Force. The Space Institute has the distinction of graduating nine astronauts ? more than any other university.
UTSI is seeking qualified engineering and physics graduate students to engage in challenging research and academic work. For qualified students, 12-month assistantships are available that include a stipend (paycheck), health insurance, and a tuition waiver. To qualify for an assistantship, students should have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or above to be competitive.
As an option to the standard classroom environment, UTSI offers online graduate degree programs in Aviation Systems and Industrial and Information Engineering emphasizing Engineering Management.
-The online Aviation Systems program offers a master's degree and provides a unique blend of aerospace engineering, aviation technology, flight science, and flight test engineering and research.
-The online Engineering Management program offers both a master and doctoral degree and provides students with an educational experience that balances technical depth with the problem-solving skills necessary to develop managers that understand both the business and engineering aspects of management.
