Drew University, a Phi Beta Kappa liberal arts university, includes the College of Liberal Arts, the Drew Theological School and the Caspersen School of Graduate Studies. Drew is located on a beautiful, wooded, 186-acre campus in Madison, New Jersey, a thriving small town close to New York City. It has a total enrollment of more than 2,000 students and has 145 full-time faculty members, 94% of whom hold the terminal degree in their field. The Theological and Caspersen Schools offer MA and PhD degrees and the College confers BA degrees in 30 disciplines.

DEGREES – Caspersen School

Arts & Letters (M.Litt., D.Litt.)
Graduate level liberal studies master and doctoral program featuring interdisciplinary study in a number of concentrations including: Fine Arts & Media Studies, Global Studies, Historical Studies, Irish/Irish-American Studies, Literary Studies, Studies in Spirituality, Teaching in the Two Year College, and Writing.

Certificate in Research Ethics
Students learn how to apply ethical principles to various research activities, manage conflicts of interest as well as nurture respectful and culturally appropriate behavior toward research subjects. This will help students gain competency in the responsible conduct of research (RCR)

Certificate in Conflict Resolution & Leadership
An interdisciplinary program, which combines the value of humanities, based study with real life experience, to address a growing need for professionals with skills in mediation and conflict transformation. This program has special appeal for law enforcement, security, military, and community leaders.

History & Culture (M.A., Ph.D.)
An interdisciplinary graduate program in modern intellectual and cultural history designed to prepare student for academic and non-academic history positions.

Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.)
A one-year masters and initial certification program in teaching: Art, Biology, Chemistry, Elementary Education, English, French, Italian, Math, Physics, Social Studies, Spanish, Theater Arts., and Teacher of Students with Disabilities.

Master of Fine Arts (in Poetry, Poetry in Translation (M.F.A.)
A two-year, low-residency program for poets and poet translators. Students hone and develop their talent, as well as gain knowledge of the craft and poetics of contemporary American writers, and writers from other eras and cultures.

Medical Humanities (C.M.H., M.M.H., D.M.H.)
Certificate, masters and doctoral degree program, which aims to address the intersection of human experience and medical knowledge.

DEGREES – The Theological School

Master of Divinity (M.Div)
Degree program that provides graduate training for ministry as an ordained parish pastor, but can be used to prepare for professional ministries beyond traditional church appointments. The M.Div. emphasizes foundational principles necessary in the practice of ministry.

Master of Arts (M.A.)
A two-year master's degree designed for students who wish to acquire a foundation in theological and religious studies as preparation for further studies at the doctoral level, teaching at the high school or community college level, leadership in social arenas where religion and ethics can or could play a key role, or personal exploration and interest.

Master of Sacred Theology (S.T.M)
A one-year program for those who wish to pursue advanced study in a particular field within the curriculum of the Theological School.

Doctor of Ministry ( D.Min)
The Doctor of Ministry program at Drew is a quality, multidisciplinary program for ministerial leaders who have distinguished themselves in the practice of ministry.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
The Ph.D. degree supports graduate research in such fields as Hebrew Bible; New Testament and Early Christianity; Theology and Philosophy; Christian Social Ethics; Religion, Culture and Ecology; and Psychology and Religion.
