Bruce Lubotsky Levin, DrPH, MPH, Program Director
The fully-online non-clinical Master of Science in Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health (MSCABH) is offered by the Department of Child and Family Studies (CFS), College of Behavioral and Community Sciences (CBCS) at the University of South Florida (USF), and includes core courses covering child and adolescent behavioral health conditions and services, cultural competency, research design, and use of research and evaluation related to child and adolescent behavioral health, developmental disabilities, and policy in behavioral health.

About

The MSCABH program prepares professionals to serve in public and non-profit agencies and schools that work with diverse children and adolescents experiencing behavioral health challenges and their families. Surveys and interviews with potential employers have shown there is high demand for master's degree level graduates to fill positions such as directors, supervisors, and case managers in mental health, substance abuse, juvenile justice, developmental disabilities, and child welfare agencies, as well as consultants in schools and early education and care programs. Educational opportunities include advancement to doctoral programs in public health and the behavioral and social sciences.

Concentrations

The MSCABH program is unique in that it offers four areas of concentration within the overall program curriculum. They are Developmental Disabilities, Leadership in Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health, Research & Evaluation, and Youth & Behavioral Health. Within the concentrations, thesis and applied tracks are offered. The thesis track is designed for those interested in possibly furthering their education beyond a master's degree or working in a more research-based setting. The applied track offers a field experience component.

DEGREE
M.S.: Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health.
